The North American tour of Disney’s Frozen celebrated 1,000 performances last night on Wednesday, January 31 at The Kentucky Center in Louisville, KY, where the hit Broadway musical is playing through Sunday, February 4.

The Kleban Foundation will present the 34th annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre on Monday, February 5 at 4PM in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at New World Stages.

Chicago's Paramount Aurora Theatre will stage the metropolis' premiere of Disney's Frozen the Musical as the 2024 holiday season show. The city, which has previously the touring production, will be one of the first to see a production staged by a local theatre company.

The 2024 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Rona Siddiqui. The 2024 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to  Lisa Loomer.

Elton John is now an EGOT. He won a Tony Award in 2000 for Best Original Score for Aida with Tim Rice. He was awarded with his first Oscar in 1995 for 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' from the Lion King. Tonight, Broadway’s The Book of Mormon plays its 4643rd performance, passing Jersey Boys to become the 12th longest running show in Broadway history.

The nationally traveling version of the Broadway musical has made its Washington premiere at the Kennedy Center and is already attracting large crowds of adults and many children, some of which are attired in the costumes of its lead characters Elsa and Anna (though mostly Elsa).
