TWELFTH NIGHT, RICHARD III and More Play American Players Theatre's 2012 Season

American-Players-Theatre-Announces-2012-13-Season-20010101

American Players Theatre (APT) announces its 2012 Season, which will run June 9 to October 21, 2012. The season will be especially exciting to Shakespeare lovers, with the return of three Shakespeare productions in APT's 1148-seat outdoor amphitheater Up the Hill, as well as Vern Thiessen's Shakespeare's Will, about William Shakespeare's enigmatic wife Anne Hathaway, in APT's 200-seat indoor Touchstone Theatre. Additionally, APT will present a new Shakespearience festival, featuring preeminent Shakespeare scholars and special events from August 24-26, 2012.

Located on 110 acres of hilly woods and meadows above the Wisconsin River in Spring Green, Wisconsin, APT was founded in 1979 and continues to be one of the most popular outdoor classical theaters in the nation.

Single tickets for American Players Theatre's 2012 Season range from $42-$66, with special 4-Pack ticket packages starting at just $88 for four tickets to select shows Up the Hill. Shakespearience festival passes are $40. Ticket and lodging packages are also available at discounted rates. For more information on ticket prices, schedules, plays and casting, call the APT Box Office at 608-588-2361 or visit www.americanplayers.org.

By George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber, Directed by Laura Gordon
Opening night: June 23 at 8 p.m.

Think your family is dramatic? Try this one for a night, as a family of actors struggle with the limelight and their places within it.

A character play about love and conscience, present and past. Former lovers reconnect to make sense of the past, as they attempt to face the future.

The Admirable Crichton - August 11 to October 6, 2012 (Up the Hill)
By J.M. Barrie, Directed by Kenneth Albers
Opening night: August 11 at 8 p.m.

A butler is useful in English drawing rooms (and even more so on deserted islands). A play rife with humor and irony by the creator of Peter Pan.

Shakespeare's Will - August 17 to October 21, 2012 (Touchstone Theatre)
By Vern Thiessen, Directed by Brenda DeVita
